Topical use:
As topical application (mixed with carrier oil), peppermint oil is an anaesthetic and analgesic which helps in relieving itching, muscle and joint pain and headache.

As aromatherapy, peppermint oil when diffused, can help reduce nausea and motion sickness. It also is a mucolytic, expectorant and nasal decongestant which can help in the management of rhinitis and sinusitis.
Hair care:
For the hair (mixed with carrier oil), peppermint oil’s high menthol content increases blood flow and facilitates blood circulation to the scalp, which in turn promotes hair growth and can help reduce dandruff.
Oral care:
Peppermint oil for oral use (mixed with carrier oil), can effectively freshen breath, reduce oral bacteria. It acts as an oral antiseptic to get rid of bad breath and elimination of oral bacteria responsible for gingivitis and tooth decay.
Fragrance:
Peppermint oil has a fresh, pleasing scent and can be added to soaps and cosmetic products.

Dilute 1–2 drops in 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of a carrier oil (jojoba, argan, sweet almond) before applying to skin.
For joint comfort and muscle pain, dilute it with carrier oil and massage the area concerned. Its powerful cooling effect can help relieve the pain.
For headaches, dilute it with carrier oil. Apply your mixture locally, massaging the temples.

Add 2–4 drops to a diffuser to freshen the atmosphere.
Oral use
Add 1 drop of peppermint oil with water as mouthwash. It is important to never swallow pure peppermint essential oil directly.
