Eucalyptus oil contains eucalyptol, limonene and terpenes. This combination gives eucalyptus oil its fresh, crisp, camphoraceous aroma.
Eucalyptus oil is filled with anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, antioxidant, antiseptic, decongestant properties. These properties help reduce redness, swelling and pain while promoting wound healing. Eucalyptus oil is a potent antimicrobial that works against bacteria and viruses useful for cold respiratory and sinus relief.
Topical use:
As a hair treatment, eucalyptus oil is used to control dandruff and is effective in killing head lice. As a skin treatment, eucalyptus oil is naturally treated in acne and blemishes. Eucalyptus oil is an effective bug repellent and a home disinfectant.
Aromatherapy:
Eucalyptus oil is used as an air refresher that freshens indoor spaces, uplifts atmosphere and as antimicrobial that works against bacteria and viruses useful for cold respiratory and sinus relief.
Lemon, Lavender, Rosemary and Peppermint oils
Topical:
Dilute 1–2 drops in 1 teaspoon (5 ml) of a carrier oil (jojoba, argan, or sweet almond) before applying to the skin and hair.
For the sinus relief, you can mix 10-12 drops of eucalyptus oil in 2 tablespoons of any carrier oil and massage into the temples on the bridge of the nose.
For the hair, mix 2-3 drops of eucalyptus oil in a carrier oil and massage into scalp leaving it for 20-30 minutes then wash as usual.
For the hair, apply 1-2 drops of eucalyptus oil to 1 teaspoon of carrier oil and apply lightly to ends.
Aromatherapy:
Add 2–4 drops to a diffuser with water or add 3-5 drops to a warm bath and breath in its healing vapers while you relax.
Eucalyptus essential oil should be diluted before topical use. Avoid contact with eyes and sensitive areas. Use with caution during pregnancy or if you have underlying health conditions.
